| Gentoo on DELL Inspiron 1501 |
 |
Having tried Debian Lenny, Debian Squeeze, Ubuntu 10.10 and Ubuntu 11.04 over past 2+ years I'm back to Gentoo. And what am I seeing now? Gentoo has been moved to baselayout2 and OpenRC, without properly updated stage3 tarball and with out-of-dated Handbook and Quick guide. Which leads to non-bootable OS. Well, that's a challange! Let's go for it!

Funny, but "conservative" governor acts just as "powersave" on Mobile Sempron, keeping frequency as low as possible even uneder heavy load. I guess, i'll stick to "conservative" on batteries and "ondemand" for AC power.

I haven't yet finished playing with Gentoo, so I really don't know if I should post my experiments here.
Also, feel free to ask anything at comments to the corresponding articles. In case you have any suggestions about this site, please leave them at guestbook.
